Auto-trail Owners’ Club rally to Bavaria 2026

The Auto-trail Owners' Club are travelling to Bavaria, one of Germany’s most picturesque regions, for an 8 night stay at Alpen Camping Park Tennsee, known for its excellent hospitality, stunning views and excellent facilities.

During your stay you'll enjoy three memorable excursions. The first is a guided day trip to Munich, Bavaria’s vibrant capital, where you’ll explore the historic Old Town followed by free time to discover its famous parks, beer gardens or just go shopping.  The next trip is a visit to the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Austria, followed by free time in the charming alpine city of Innsbruck. Last, but not least you'll enjoy a magical journey to Neuschwanstein Castle, the fairy-tale palace that inspired Disney, set high above the Bavarian countryside with spectacular panoramic views.

You may wish to continue to France where the Auto-Trail Owners Club have organised a further rally across 3 campsites in Provence.

Itinerary

01 May - 09 May: Alpen Camping Park Tennsee (8 nights)
Alpen Tennsee

Upon your arrival you will be welcomed with a refreshing drink, followed by an evening meal where you can catch up with old friends.

3 May - Day trip to the Munich

Today, you’ll travel by coach (approx. 1.5 hrs) to the vibrant capital of Bavaria—Munich. Upon arrival, a local guide will lead you on a private walking tour through the heart of the Altstadt (Old Town), winding past historic squares, medieval architecture, and ending at the impressive Frauenkirche Towers, Munich’s soaring twin-spired cathedral.

After the tour, enjoy free time to explore at your leisure. Climb the tower (optional, booking required*) for panoramic views across the city’s rooftops and beyond. Or simply settle into a café or biergarten and watch Munich’s world go by.

Why not wander the tree-lined paths of the English Garden, one of Europe’s largest urban parks, or visit the ornate Munich Residenz, Germany’s largest inner-city palace? For those inclined toward retail therapy, the elegant Maximilianstraße offers upmarket boutiques and traditional Bavarian shops.

*Please note: the tower climb is not included in the package. It involves a narrow spiral staircase (90 steps), which may not be suitable for guests with walking difficulties or claustrophobia. If interested, we can arrange advance reservations for small groups (max 20 people).

5 May - Swarovski museum

Today’s journey sparkles—quite literally—as we visit the enchanting Swarovski Crystal Worlds, a one-of-a-kind museum and garden blending fantasy, art, and crystal craftsmanship. Designed to inspire awe, this is no ordinary factory tour, but a multi-sensory experience set against the stunning backdrop of the Austrian Alps.

Afterwards, the trip continues to Innsbruck, where you’ll have time to stroll the charming streets of the medieval Old Town, marvel at the Golden Roof, or sit back with a coffee while enjoying the alpine views.

7 May - Neuschwanstein Castle

Prepare to be transported into a fairy-tale with a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle, the romantic hilltop palace that famously inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle. With its turreted towers, mountain setting, and dreamlike interiors, it’s one of Europe’s most iconic sights.

Enjoy a guided tour through the castle’s opulent rooms and learn about the mysterious King Ludwig II, Bavaria’s “fairy tale king.” Then take a moment to enjoy the panoramic views of lakes, forests, and peaks that surround this magical setting.

7 May - Gala evening

On your penultimate night, you are invited toa gala evening, which includes an evening meal accompanied by live Bavarian music—the perfect chance to reminisce with fellow travellers, and soak up the spirit of the Alps.
