This year the Suffolk Centre will be venturing to the Loire Valley, staying at the small and friendly site L'isle Verte. This campsite is set on the banks of the river with lovely views and direct cycle paths along the Loire. Clement, the enthusiastic and friendly owner, speaks excellent English and enjoys introducing his campers to the local wines and gastronomy with organised wine tasting and visits.
There are many attractions nearby, such as a boat trip from beside the site and sail down to the beautiful Saumur with its château, wine caves and Cadre Noir. Or why not visit the Sunday market in the village, where you will find local delicacies. Cyclists and walkers could also well be in their element here. For the less energetic, there is a bus service into Saumur with its château and other historic buildings, and all its shops, bars and restaurants.
This site is an ideal base from which to explore the western Loire area.

View CampsiteThis friendly, natural site, with pitches overlooking the Loire, is just 200 m. from the nearest shop, bar and restaurant in Montsoreau and is an ideal base from which to explore the Western Loire area. Most of the 90 shaded, level and good sized touring pitches are separated by low hedges but grass tends to be rather sparse during dry spells. All have 16A electricity. Excellent English is spoken in the reception and bar/restaurant. Attractions within walking distance include the château, troglodyte caves (used for traditional mushroom production) and restaurant, wine tasting in the cellars nearby and a Sunday market in the village.
