The tour will start at the delightful sight, Vakantiepark Koningshof where you will spend the first 7 nights. This popular campsite is friendly and welcoming and located in Rijnsburg, a small village in the south of Holland, perfectly located for visiting Historic cities like Delft and Leiden, the infamous tulips in the bulb-fields, Keukenhof, and the peaceful windmills at Kinderdijk. Don't forget to enjoy the coast, since South Holland has many lovely coastal towns like Scheveningen and Noordwijk.

Next you will travel to, Camping Heumens Bos, a tranquil, rural campsite, situated beside miles of beautiful woodland, criss-crossed by cycle paths. This campsite is located in Heumen, a village in the eastern Netherlands, great for visiting Nijmegen, the largest and oldest city in the Netherlands. Its also known for being the capital of cycling and so cycle paths are plentiful. Nijmegen dates back to the Roman period, and sits between three rivers, the Rhine, Meuse and Waal.

There are excursions available on this rally for an additional price. They are optional so you can choose the ones that suit you.

This popular campsite is friendly and welcoming. Located in Rijnsburg, a small village in the south of Holland. There are 200 pitches for touring units (some with hardstandings for larger units) are laid out in small groups, divided by hedges and trees and all with 10A electrical connections.

Please note as from 2023 the use of electricity will no longer be included in the overnight price at Vakantiepark Koningshof. Guests will pay for the electricity they have used on their pitch during the stay. There is a prepayment of 7 euros per night for electricity. If you use less, the amount will be automatically transferred back to your bank account after the stay. If you use more, an invoice will be sent to you after your stay for the extra usage.

Recreatiecentrum Heumens Bos covers 17 hectares of woodland and grass fields providing 162 level touring pitches arranged in groups of ten or twelve. All pitches have electricity (6A) and cable connections, and cars are parked away from the units allowing plenty of recreational space. The site is situated beside miles of beautiful woods, criss-crossed by plenty of cycle paths, in a tranquil, rural setting.

Welcome meal at Koningshof restaurant

Get to know your fellow rally members over a welcome buffet in the campsite restaurant. The following is an example of the delicious food on offer.

Potato/ Meat Salad, Mixed salad, Meatballs in pepper sauce, Fresh kibbling (traditional Dutch deep-fried cod), Beef casserole, Chicken with peanut sauce, Rice, Chips, Bread with dipping.

Delft Canal boat and Pottery Factory (From Koningshof)

Depart the campsite at 9.00am by coach and travel into the town of Delft where you will all meet at the ‘Rondvaart Delft’ on Koommarkt 113 ready for the canal experience.

At 11.00, before you board the canal boat, take the four-minute stroll to New Church a magnificent Gothic church in the middle of the market square. The church is renowned for its beautiful stained-glass windows and it’s remarkable ‘leaning’ structure. Feel free to climb to the top of the tower for amazing views (admission to the tower is excluded, and this visit is not guided).

Following the visit to New Church, return to the ticket office ready to board the boat at 12.00 hrs. On board you will experience a relaxing guided tour viewing some of the top attractions that the old city centre has to offer. During your cruise, you can listen to the captain’s commentary whilst enjoying a light lunch before you arrive at Delft Pottery factory - the "Royal Delft".

At 13.15 hrs you will disembark and continue with a guided visit of Royal Delft, taking you through the process of painting the pottery including a demonization. At 14.45 you re-join the boat for your return journey to the city centre.

Following your excursion, you will have free time to wander around Delft at your leisure.

Return to the coach at 16:00pm to Koningshof.

The Kinderdijk World heritage site (from Koningshof)

Visit the magnificent world heritage site of Kinderdijk known for its 18th century windmills. Upon arrival you wander down to the secondary pumping station and watch a film which takes you on a short journey though the history of Kinderdijk.

Following the film, you will board a boat where you can view the windmills from the water as you glide past and visit the museum mill Nederwaard.

After the tour you have an opportunity to wander at your own pace or enjoy a coffee at one of the various coffee shops.

Coach collection is at 1pm to return you to the campsite.

A day trip to the historic Arnhem (From Heumens Bos)

Saturday 6 May, 2023

Depart the campsite at 9.00am by coach and travel into the town of Arnhem. The coach will drop you at the famous John Frost Bridge in Arnhem. Next to the bridge you will find a small information centre (entrance is free of charge) where you can spend 15 minutes before meeting the guide for the walking tour of Arnhem and the old town.

The guided tour will finish at the 100-year-old Sonsbeek Park where you will have free time in the park and town to wander at your leisure and grab a bite to eat or coffee at a local café.

At 13.45 you will be collected by coach and taken to the Airborne Museum Hartenstein. On arrival you will have a 15-minute introduction about the Villa Hartenstein and the Battle of Arnhem by a museum guide, followed by free time to visit the museum with a ‘podcatcher’. At the end of the tour, enjoy a coffee or tea and a slice of apple pie in the museum café.

Following the museum you rejoin the coach and continue your journey to the Arnhem Oosterbeek War Cemetery where 1750 Allied soldiers are buried following the battle of Arnhem. Once again you have free time to visit at your own pace.

Return to the coach at 17:00pm to Heumens Bos.

Day trip to the historic town of Valkenburg

Depart from the campsite at 09:30am by coach for your journey to the historic town of Valkenburg. Start your day with a visit to the Gemeentegrot caves you will experience the history of the 30,000-year-old cave on a 30-minute tour by train, during the tour you will see murals, sculptures and historic art that will take you back in time.

Next you will have free time to visit Valkenburg an extremely popular sightseeing destination. After you visit to the caves, why not visit the castle ruins, wander around the shops or while away the afternoon in a restaurant or cafe. There's one restaurant in a particularly appealing location at the foot of the castle ruins: Restaurant De Haselderhof offers a marvellous view over the small town of Valkenburg and a perfect place for a coffee or their famous cake known as Vlaai.

Return to the coach at 16:00pm to Heumens Bos.
